Bangladesh to screen Iran film

The 17th edition of Dhaka International Film Festival 2019 is to screen 'No. 17 Soheila’ by Mahmoud Ghaffari.

Produced by Amir Seyyedzadeh, the film has been accepted into the main competition section of the festival.

'No. 17 Soheila’ is about a 40-year-old single woman who needs to get married as soon as possible due to some genetic disorder that would complicate her pregnancy.

The flick is the winner of the top prize at the 13th International Oriental Film Festival of Geneva in Switzerland.

Ghaffari’s movie competed at the 35th edition of Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.

Among the cast are Zahra Davoud-Nejad, Mehrdad Seddiqian and Babak Hamidiyan.

Founded in 1992, the 17th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) will be held with a theme on “Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society.”

The festival will be launched on January 10-18, 2019 in Dhaka.
